Enigma 2009

Inspired by Elgar's Enigma Variations year 5 children explored their own theme and variations through music, mask-making and drama.

Working with mask-maker Pyn Stockman (www.dramask.co.uk;  www.secretcityarts.co.uk;) and musician Jackie Tyler, the children created their own imaginary characters. Refering to their written descriptions, they made masks and developed a musical theme and set of variations. After rehearsing their pieces and exploring the movements their characters would make, they gave a successful performance of live music and drama at the end of the project.
